The municipal camp-site

Located in the heart of Auvergne, at 12 kms from Clermont ferrand, Cournon d’Auvergne is the second city of the Puy de Dôme (20 000 inhabitants).

Dominated by the volcanos chain and gone along by the river Allier, this old wine-grower village combines the advantages of the city and those of the countryside.

Eastside from the city, the municipal camp-site “ Le pré des laveuses” welcomes you in beautiful surroundings of 5 Ha. Gone along by the Allier (the river) on the one hand, and a lake of 7 Ha on the other hand, the camp-site proposes vast and calm and shaded places (150) from april 1st to october 31st

The locative park, composed of 30 leisure-homes (type 3 and type 2) is opened all year long.

There are also many facilities avaible for your confort : games for children, TV room, miniature-golf, tennis, “petanque”, WI FI.

A bar-restaurant nextto the lake, offers holidays-makers the liberty of spending a nicemoment while eating.

During the summer season, you can take advantage of the beach to rest or to swim under the monitoring of swimming teachers. Fishing in the river or in the lake (free for the campers) is also a pleasant moment of relaxation. For the sportsmen, they will be able to practise canoeing, the miniature-golf or tennis and all that within the camp-site.

Various activities are also proposed to you by the organizers of the camp-site : sporting tournaments and competitions ( football, volleyball, game of bowls : “pétanque”), card contests... Let us not forget the child clubwich will delght the young ones as well as the grown-ups.

Your evenings are animated in various ways : shows, plays, theatre... Many musical evenings animated by professionnal singers are proposed to you. It is a very good occasion to be with your family or with friends around a large table and of a dance floor in order to share very good moments of conviviality.

Besides the activities of the camp-site, the Auvergne area also proposes a vast choice. Major site in Europe, with more than 70 volcanos in one of the most wooded area of France, Auvergne offers walks unforget table walks. Many lakes, located in the heart of the volcanos let you walk and day-dream in a nearly wild nature (Aydat, Chambon, Pavin...).

This vast natural extent also allows to practice many sports :hiking, cycling, “parapente”, hand gliding or diving. Everyone can practise her/his passion within a very beautiful setting .

Many historic buildings are to be discovered and one can visit many castles or churches. Local craft industry offers many products as beautiful as useful : enamelled lava, knives (Thiers) artisanal paper (Ambert), pottery (Lezoux) or art glassfactory (Ennezat).

You will also discover many culinary specialities (cheese, pork-butchery, wine, aligot, tripoux, potée). The area counts many restaurants (inns or gourmet-restaurants).

The great 2008 novelty is the building of a heated warmed swimming-pool which is 170 sq meters and offers a padding-pool for the youngest and water games for the oldest ones (slide and mushroom).

This game area is equipped for the persons with reduced mobility.
